Laura Sea is a Canadian pop-punk/alt-rock artist. She was born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area and is now based in Milton. She sings and plays piano and guitar. Laura is a classically trained pianist, considering piano to be her main (and best) instrument. She is also a self-taught vocalist, always learning and practicing different vocal techniques. She plays some guitar as well, preferring simple riffs and rhythm guitar.
Although she has always been a musician, Laura did not always have time to fully dedicate herself to music. Outside of the creative arts, Laura is a pedorthist. As a teenager, she always excelled at the sciences and had a passion for health, so she decided to pursue a stable healthcare career in lieu of the uncertainty of musical endeavours. Nowadays, with her healthcare career goals met, Laura is able to pursue her musical goals more vigorously. Laura has been writing songs and music since she was 13 and has always had a passion for all things music. "Music has been the one consistent thing in my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way," she says. In 2020, Laura started focusing on her original music instead of teaching music. In the past, she has played at small events and competitions with great success. These achievements in classical music were a solid base for the start of her career as an independent artist. Laura made her first release in 2021. Her debut single, "Defy", garnered good praise with its dark, moody alternative rock sound and was followed by a couple of cover songs. Although a promising start, Laura did not gain momentum until 2023 when she released two more original songs. "My Own Beat" continues to be one of her most popular tracks. With the release of three more singles in 2024, Laura really began to establish her presence in the scene. This led to the release of her debut album, "Transformations", in July of 2024. Tracks like "Certified Anti-depressant" and "No Conditions" have earned praise from publications for its catchy tunes and meaningful lyrics. Riding on the success of this album, Laura closed off the year with a pop-punk anthem and ballad, "Six Feet Under". Laura has already made herself known for her heartfelt, captivating performances from her online videos. She knows that there is a lot of work ahead of her, but her determination and strong work ethics will certainly establish Laura as a force to be reckoned with. |
